Alright, let’s dive right into this. So, we have several shows to get through. Libertine, Chiara Boni La Petite, Naeem Khan, Badgley Mischka, Vivienne Tam, and The Blonds. This review will be filled with a lot of glitz, glam, and bling. I feel that these collections are for the fun, fashion-forward girl/woman. I jotted down notes for each show. These notes are in any ordered. I wanted this to feel super organic.
First up Libertine! When I first saw this collection immediately thought “70’s!” Love the ending of this show where it wasn’t a traditional flood. Here is the list:
- Glittered Accessories
- Bold Floral Prints
- Sequin Capes
- Printed Fabrics
- Fur or Ostrich Trimmed Toe Strappy Heels
- Mens Embellished Suits
- Crystalized Track Jackets
- Glittered Stockings
- Blinged-out hanging from men’s jackets
Next up Badgley Mischka! This collection had Andy Sachs from “Devil Wears Prada” vibe. These looks gave me fashion industry working girl. I loved how classic, chic, and functional these looks are. Peep my notes and video below.
- Sheer, sequins coats, pencil skirts, velvet
- Sequin floral prints
- Off the shoulder design concepts
- Bell Sleeves
- Blinged-out Cheetah or Leopard print
- Whimsical Fabrics
Third on my list Naeem Khan. I have three words for this collection “HUNNI THE DETAILS!” What I admire about this designer there is a lot of thought that went into this collection. These clothes are made really well. This collection was walking art, not a fashion show.
- Glitz & Glam
- Chic Jumpsuits
- Blinged-out power suits
- Embellished Capes
- Asian inspired
- Fringe fabrics
- Cut-out backs
- Sequin Hooded Dresses
- Tie around dresses
Fourth on my list Chira Boni La Petite Robe. I didn’t have a lot to say about this collection. However, there were some design concepts that I loved. Fringe dresses are the shows stoppers.
- Elaborate hats and headdresses
- Sequins and off the shoulders with embellished spikes.
- Corsetted power suits and dresses
- Zebra Prints
Next up Vivienne Tam. This designer also had a strong collection. When the first model walked out I immediately said “Asian Theme!”
- Big High Neck Sweaters
- Dope coats
- Embroidered dragons and shawls
- Layered heavy coats over dresses
- Pilot or Russian Style hats
- Kimonos and chunky sweaters
Lastly, The Blonds! They made my list but I was underwhelmed and some of the design elements. Some the elements reminded me the late great Alexander McQueen his Platos Atlantis Collection when Lady Gaga performed. Take a look! Oh, and included McQueen’s show to compare.
- Alexander McQueen Hair
- Leather Harness
- Red Patent Leather
- Blinged-out Corsets
- Sheer Catsuits
- Thigh high boots
